Kati brings to the USA her humble, yet explosive and uplifting energy. Kati's knowledge of dance and choreography reveals her intricate and versatile style, making her a highly sought-after performer, nationally and internationally. A native of Cuba, Kati grew up surrounded by the sounds of the drum and the Afro-Cuban tradition. Her dance studies included folkloric, popular, modern, ballet, choreography, composition, and staging. Her earlier performances include the Havana International Jazz Festival with Cuban stars such as Bobby Carcases and Chucho Valdez and the Bienal Internacional de la Habana with Afro-Cuban music and performance icon Mercedita Valdez and visual artist Manuel Mendive.
Jorge Luis Fernandez Professional Dancer, Teacher, and Choreographer from Cuba, Graduated from ENA( National School of Dance from Cuba), especially in Cuban Folklore, Afro, Rumba, Salsa and popular Styles, Contemporary, and Musician. Indira Mora Cueto graduated from the National School of Art, of modern, contemporary and folkloric dance. She became part of different top dance companies in Cuba like Santiago Alfonzo and Ballet Rakatan. She participated in different festivals and congresses in Europe, especially Italy, Switzerland, etc. She has collaborated with dancers like Seo Fernandez and currently with Jorge Luis Fernandez, and works in two shows in Las Vegas-Cirque Du Soleil Zumanity and Sexxy show. She has participated in different salsa congresses in the USA and also teaches in different schools of Salsa, Rumba, and Reggaeton: Naiboa Dance Studio, Sin City Salsero, and Moderno Dance Center.
Wilfredo is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher with a degree from Escuela de Artes Varietur in Havana, Cuba. While there, he specialized in Afro-Cuban technique, modern dance, and Cuban popular styles and worked with some of the country’s most important names in these fields. International performances and teaching gigs at dance festivals have taken him to Germany, France, Curacao, Mexico, and all over the US. Wilfredo was also selected as a judge in the first annual World Latin Dance Cup with producer Albert Torres. Currently, he teaches classes in San Diego and is the artistic director of La Tribu dance group.
Michael "Michelito" Herrera is the former Musical Director of the world-acclaimed Cuban folkloric dance group Yoruba Andabo. Alongside General Director Yosvany del Pino, Miguel led Yoruba Andabo for four years, in which he managed the musical arrangements, vocal and musical instrument performances, as well as the artistic dance repertoire of an exceedingly-talented group of dancers and musicians. A self-taught dancer and musician, Miguel has been deeply immersed in Cuban folkloric dance and performance since he was six years old, performing in child dance ensembles. A native of La Habana, Cuba, he has shared the world stage with some of Cuba's and Latin America's most prominent musicians and artists, including Chucho Valdes, Juan Formell & Los Van Van, Oscar de Leon, Xiomara Laugart from Yerba Buena, Calle 13 and Juanes in stages all over the globe, including the UK, France, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Brazil and Cuba. Most recently, Miguel performed with Yoruba Andabo and Chucho Valdes at Carnegie Hall in New York City in November of 2012.
Anaya Latin Dance is a duo dance company based in Anchorage, Alaska. Ciro Anaya is from Santiago de Cuba, the birthplace of Cuban son. Before moving to Alaska, he danced in the internationally-recognized professional dance company directed by Yanek Revilla, Sabor DKY, performing Cuban popular dances and teaching groups of students from all around the world. His partner Liz Anaya is from Alaska and holds a master's degree in Dance Knowledge, Practice, and Heritage, focusing on Cuban dance during her studies. In 2016, she served as a judge at Salsanor’s annual “Rueda Congress” in Norway.
Daniela is the Co-Director of La Clave Cubana, Seattle's premier salsa dance group where she teaches the essence of Cuban dances such as Salsa/Casino & Rueda De Casino, and other Afro-Cuban Dance. Daniela's love for music and dancing started at a young age leading her to be one of the principal dancers at the music festivals in her school. Daniela’s salsa background started in 2009. LA style was her first learned style but in 2011, Cuban Casino stole her heart. As soon as she moved to Seattle, Daniela participated in various auditioning sessions until she was accepted in “La Clave Cubana” where she developed her skills as an instructor which has given her the opportunity to share her knowledge and love for dancing Cuban Salsa.
Reinier is the Director of La Clave Cubana, Seattle's premier salsa dance group where he teaches the essence of Cuban dances such as Salsa/Casino & Rueda De Casino, and other Afro-Cuban Dance. Reinier first started dancing to the Afro-Cuban rhythms at the young age of 13. Reinier got immediately discovered by a professional Afro Cuban dance team which recruited his talent and showcased him all over Cuba. At the age of 18 he graduated from the Cuban school of dance as a dance instructor specializing in Popular Dances, such as Cuban Salsa, Son, Cha cha cha , Mambo and Rumba. Reinier now lives in Seattle where he continues to share his talent and passion for the Afro-Cuban rhythms through dance classes, workshops, and performances at his studio, La Clave Cubana.
Mike has studied, danced, performed, and taught Cuban Salsa for more than a decade. He is the fearless leader of Rumbanana. His mission is to share his addiction of Cuban music and dance and to boldly seek out new information, resources, and music. Jaime has been studying and dancing Cuban Salsa for over nine years. She began taking classes from Rumbanana in 2009 and joined the Rumbanana performance team in 2010.
Tim has over 20 years of dancing experience. He began his journey dancing linear LA style for about four years prior to discovering Cuban Salsa. In 2002, Tim connected with Eric Johnson and became part of his performance team, “Rueda San Diego”. In 2010, he created his own performance team called “enRuédame Mas”. Tim has had the opportunity to perform with the “Rueda All-Stars” at the Holguin Festival, and continues to be a leader in the Cuban Salsa community in North County SD. Rocio, moved to SD in 2014 and joined the San Diego “Rueda Casineros”, becoming one of its key leaders in community building. A year later, she joined “enRuédaMe Mas” as co-director. Rocio, launched and co-produced in 2016 the first Cuban Dance Congress in San Diego.
